308 FC Nickle brass?

Is 308 FC Nickel plated brass any good?
I have a few hundred + pcs. from local LEO range - It was all fired from bolt rifles and is once fired.
I have plenty of Winchester and Lapua brass so was thinking of selling or trading but wanted to get thoughts on the brass being nickel. Thanks in advance!

I've got some of those .308 FC Nickel plated brass . . . and find they're as good as any of the regular FC brass I've used. I've got 4 firing on them. After the 2nd firing, I actually turned the necks like I do for the rest of my brass and have had no issues . . . yet. I just don't use them very often, so it'll probably be a long time before I really get many more firings out of them.

As pointed out, the nickel is a little harder than brass and being a plating, it will have a tendency to peal or flake off. So far I haven't seen that, but I'm keeping a close watch on that so not to damage my sizing die.

Here's what my nickel plated cartridges look like:

It's good looking ammo.. Thanks

It is as good as the plain brass is. Don't fret using it. It is mainly nickle coated to aid in feeding better in semi-auto's. Just be sure and lube it when FL sizing it, as the coating is harder than regular brass casings.

I completely agree. I have heard mixed stories on nickel plated brass, but haven't used it on anything except 300 blackout and I've seen no problems with it.

The 6.5 Grendel crowd doesn't seem to like it, but I have seen no problems with the 300 blackout so far.

I don't really need any new brass, and still have 50 pieces of 300 blackout I haven't used yet, still on the first batch of 50. I'm shooting 110 grain Hornady CX bullets, I think it's a good cartridge for 100-200 on hogs/deer. My lightest hunting AR, 6 lbs. with a red dot. Add 1 lb. for 6.5 Grendel and another 1 lb. for an LR-308 (8.6 blackout).

I ran Nickel cases in one of my Handguns for awhile , and developed a minor issue with having to "clean" the gun more often , due to small flakes of the Nickel plating coming off the cases . Other than that , had no issues with them , but you might want to watch for that .

No problem . I'll use them , as they work well in my Glock , but I don't reload them anymore .
