.308 case length, measured chamber

I have a new Rem. 700 LTR and 300rds new win brass. Using a Sinclair case length gauge and shortened brass, I measured the case length 10X and came up with 2.049" as a final measurement.

My speer manual says trim to for 308 is 2.005. The brass ranges a bit around 2.005-2.010. Since my chamber is clearly long enough, any reason to worry about trimming until the brass gets to 2.030"? I am not concerned with maximum accuracy as this rifle is primarily a varmint/deer/elk rig. My brass prep consists of deburring the flash hole, squaring the primer pocket. I am using lee collet die, redding bump and seating, and when needed forster full length sizing.

I guess I am not clear on what issue there are with not trimming in this case with the long chamber. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

As long as the brass fits your chamber, you have no problem. BR types prefer to have brass as long as possible to protect the chamber from erosion.

Good point. My thoughts are that the brass can grow quite a bit. If nothing else, I'll find out as I go.
