In the accuracy world Power isn't where it's at.
Since the original poster mentioned hunting loads and not ELR shooting the 210 berger and RE25 have worked well for me.
It is fabulous what some shooters can do with thier long range rifles,,,,I am blessed with my own range right here in the yard,,,(up to 600yds) ,,,we can learn much from other shooters ,,whether hunting //paper punching or shooting gongs,,,,,RogerWhile you are correct, the name of the website is Accurate Shooter which can often lead to crossover discussions regarding both accuracy for target shooting and accuracy for hunting. I have worked on loads for a similar cartridge, the 8mm Rem. Mag. necked down to .30 caliber. I found excellent accuracy and performance while using the Berger 180 gr. Elite Hunter bullets. As much as I like the 210's and still shoot them in other cartridges, this one favored the 180 grain. Norma MRP was the powder of choice. I was able to proof the accuracy at 1,000 yards even though I will not be hunting that far.
My .300 Weatherby and .300 Win. Mag both excel at the distances I generally find myself shooting game. But I dearly love playing with cartridges!![]()
