308 & 200 hybrids horizontal stringing

You still must point to the right place. Equipment matters but it's the driver. A good score means you probably have a good rifle and load but that it's also well driven.

The horizontal I was seeing seeing was about 2" to 2.5" at 300 yds. My vertical was less than an inch. I was told that horizontal was the shooter or wind so I shot a few matches at this higher load and kept getting unexplained left and right movements out of 10 ring. I decided to try a different load based on overall group size and it has been good ever since. I assume my problem at the higher node was my ability to manage the recoil.

I've sent it as a PM before to people asking about my results with the 215s. I've got a load that shoots ridiculous tight vertical, and has an ES under 10FPS, but it runs an MOA wide at 300 in pretty much no wind conditions. It's all in the recoil management, or lack thereof.

Maybe like the poster above I need to drop them to the next node and see if I can handle them there, or spend a whole lot more time on my position training.
