300WM die advice

Starting to reload 300WM and was thinking the following:

Redding Bushing FL die

Someone mentioned to me that it wouldn't size enough of the neck. If so then why would they make it and people buy it?

According to Redding it'll resize the body and let me bump the shoulder also. I'll get the Innovative body sizer later on if I have bulging problems, which not everyone seems to have.

Any recommendations as to bushing sizes to try out first? Going with Norma brass and Berger 215 for now.

I use a Forster Shoulder bump neck sizer with a bushing and a Forster Ultra seating die and have no problems. I also have a Foester FL die if they start getting too tight, which so far hasn't been an issue. Shoots very well. You can PM me if you want more info.

The bushing dies size most of the neck, but not 100% of the way down. I wouldn't say that don't resize enough of the neck though; just not all. The bushing you need will depend on your brass. I don't use my 300 WSM for anything but hunting, but I have quite a colelciotn of brass for it. The brass I have has a pretty large variation in neck thickness, so I can't help with a bushing suggestion. I just undersize it slighly and use an expander mandrell.

I use norma brass in my trg-42 300wm, and use reddings competition bushing die set including body die! Imo this is all you'll need ..i head space off the shoulder and use Innovative technologies digital headspace gauge, but it's not a necessity.
