300 yard group size ?

What size groups at 300 yards are y’all getting. Just wondering what it takes to be competitive with a Vudoo or other custom.

Until I read your post and Googled 300y 22lr I would have thought this was an absurd question. Apparently there are several folks shooting SV 22lr at this distance. I learn something new every time that I spend time on this forum.

I would say about 1/2-1MOA should be achievable.
Durring the big "crunch" in 2012, sniper teams were actually using 22lr at 300 yards to simulate 308 at 1,000 yards.

I’d say if you can consistently shoot 3” groups with a 22 rimfire you have a great rifle, ammo and conditions. I’d think 1/2 moa would be extraordinary. Heck a lot of hunting center fires won’t do moa at 300.

Sounds like you need better hunting rifles. Lol

600 yards is much harder, not so much drop, as windage.

Last week I shot a 3 shot group in 1 hole at 300 yards. This week I shot 450/450-34X. I finished 3rd. The attached pictures are from last week. The black circle is about the size of the 10 ring at 300 yards (F-0pen).

My 2 current 22 rimfire sporters will do .25” groups at 50y. I am not sure that I could easily get them to .5” groups at 100y. Will give it a try. Have done it with my 17hmr. It has been windy around here lately. Just breaking in a new 1710 22lr.

This is a 5 shot group at 395-400 yards with my Vudoo and lest tested Eley Red. It is about a 3 inch group. That is about as good as I can get at 400 yards.

For myself, if I had any center fire rifle that would potentially not shoot moa or better at any distance I would try to figure out what was wrong with the rifle and/or ammo

Very nice shooting. How many moa in your scope rail and what scope are you using?

In favorable conditions, MOA'ish groups at 300 yards (around 3 inches) with a good 22, with good ammo is repeatably achievable.

Some groups maybe a little bit better, some a bit worse. (Get in ugly conditions and they get real ugly real quick). Ammo becomes more important at 300. The cheaper stuff that shots good at 50 or even 100 fails when you get to 200 and beyond (lot of vertical and more flyers show up).
