300 WSM using the 21st Century Hydro Seater

Just looking for some insight with the hydro seater. Loading 300 wsm 210 berger, with .002 neck tension. What amount of pressure should I be looking for. thanks John

Sniper is correct. You are looking for similar seating pressure. It depends on what you had done for your prep, and sizing (bushing/neck turning etc). I have not done a 300 WSM, however I load my .284 Shehane and Dasher with it. If I recall my target on the Shehane is between 30-40lbs and the Dasher is around 20 lbs. You will see more consistency with annealed brass that is properly neck turned, however even with all of the prep you will have a few that straggle above and below your average.

What you want to do is sort your loads. For example have a light, medium, and heavy group (like 20-30 lbs/30-40lbs/40-50 lbs) You can refine from there. I sort in 5-10lb increments. You will find an average within a large group which should be your target. My average is between 30-40 lbs so the majority of your loads should fall in there. the ones that fall above and below sort out, keep together and shoot them together. The hydro press is one of my favorite tools and has really tightened up my groups and improved my scores.

Good Luck!

Yeah i didnt mean to sound sarcastic... every one of my rifles seat at a different pressure... consistacy is what to look for... for example my 338 lapua seats at 60-65lbs... then ive been able to weed out a few that seated above that or below that...
