300 wsm question

I’m about to build a 300 WSM on a Borden BRMXD for F open and was thinking on the lines of a 10 twist barrel shooting the 200 gn 20x Berger’s.If I was to jump up to let’s say a 220 gn bullet would I need a 1 in 9 twist? Also what’s the recommendation on free-bore and neck diameter from someone who’s shooting this rig.

I have 2 / .300 WSMs. One for the 215 Hybrids and one for the 200-20Xs. The one for the 215s has a .240 freebore, the other for the 200-20Xs has a .185 freebore. There may only be 15gr.s difference in weight, however, the bearing surface of the 200-20X is VERY short! I am a fan of "turned" necks and my chamber neck is .337. I believe that a 10 twist will work for BOTH bullets.. The one for my 215s has a 9.5 twist and the one for the 200-20Xs has an 11 twist..

I’m shooting 215’s through a 10twist and they are awesome out to 1200yards in my F-open rig.

.225 FB. - .343 NK
1-10 tw barrels on both

I would stick with the 10 twist for 200-220 bullets. I run a .230 freebore for 210vlds

I’ve shot a 1-10 for 215’s and 230’s with zero issue. The more twist you get, the more torque you get, which is one of the down falls of a magnum. I’m using a .265 freebore

Could you tell me what your loaded round measures (215gr Hybrid)
I picked up my 300wsm barrel already chambered and do not have the FB specs.

Curious to get an estimate of the FB
