300 Win Mag 180 grain accuracy loads, Looking for input.

Hello guys,
I am looking for some accuracy loads in my 300 WM using 180 ballistic tips / accubonds. I was planning on using H4831 since its what I have. I just have not worked with it much in a 300 win mag.. So I was just going to ask if anybody had a good starting point with the Noslers. Thanks, Matt

I'd start a little lower and work up to 75-76gr and I'd bet you'll find a decent load in that range. Lot #'s of powder will vary as will different rifles, but I'm shooting 75.5gr H4831SC and 180gr Accubonds with good accuracy at about 3025fps from a 24" barrel.

H4831SC actually shot better out of my rifle than RL22 and several other common powders for the application. Good luck!

Kevin

What case, primer and COAL do you use? And do you think the standard "long cut" H4831 will be hotter or colder than the SC version? Thanks, Matt

i found h4831sc very effective with my Hart bbl. try starting at 72gr or so and work up to equate your chamber/bbl.

i got 3075 and <.450 groups, took elk, moose, bear, etc.

Thanks guys. I managed to get a 180 to shoot just under an inch at 200 with 75.0 grains H4831 and its running 2900 fps in my short barreled rifle. This is more than accurate enough out of this factory browning for deer here in GA. Thanks, Matt
