has anyone got the real load dope on this caliber?, in a Remington action with a 26 inch barrel? my buddy has one and I shot it today, because the guy who loaded up some rounds for it, and I think cut the brass by .003" at the neck, did not cut the brass very well, and he couldn't make the bullets go into the barrel. So, I cleaned the action which had powder in the barrel and was preventing the rounds from loading,and then the rounds with steel wool, and they then all went into the barrel except two, with poorly cut necks. I took the two loaded rounds apart that did not chamber, and noted that the load with 185 gr. bullets was only 79 grains of what looks like 4831?? what is this guy thinking? any one with some good dope for this round??

Go to a cabelas and they have paper back copies of all the testing done on a particular cartridge. I used 80 gr of IMR 4350 with 190 vld berger. That is a very hot load, be careful. There is a guy called 300rum on this site see if you can find him.

I've pushed 200gr Accubonds to a RCH over 3200fps with aprox 93gr or RL25. Same/same for 200gr SMKs. Retunbo is THE POWDER for the 300 RUM.

I've ran 180 Nosler Balistic Tips with Retumbo = 1/2 " at 200 yards. Remington 700 BDL SS 26" barrel. I can not remember the charge weight off the top of my head, been a long time since I loaded for it.

Hey AJ, I have 2 very good loads for this caliber: 1.) 92.0grs of RL-25 with 200gr. Accubonds >> It shoots "well" NOT great but well @ 3200f.p.s. 2.) Same 200gr Accubond with 96.0grs of Retumbo. VERY accurate and TIGHT shot strings at 3225f.p.s. This is the most devastating cartridge I have ever seen in my life! I have shot several large "feral hogs" with this cartridge at ranges from 60 to 325 yards... It is amazing what devastation it rains down on it's prospective target! Unreal! >>>However, so is the recoil! I have a SAKO action, Richards stock and a 26" Pac-Nor barrel>>w/o a break! OUCH!!! This is why I am strongly considering selling it!! They do not call them super-mags for nothing!!

My 700 sendero likes 82 grains of imr 4350 with a 180 grain scirraco which is a max load. I have bagged a couple of muleys but what is the most fun is to shoot rock chucks at long range. I think the 300 ultra is one of the best.
