Does anyone have any good loads worked up for the rem.300 ultra mag.?

dogpile - I've just started working on loads for the big beltless monster this year... Am using stiff charges of Retumbo, under a 200 grain Sierra SPBT hunting bullet. Remington's 9 1/2 magnum primer seems to be doing a good job. I'm up to 3130 fps from a 26" factory tube, with the 200 grain bullet. Pretty easily surpasses the power level of the other .30 cal magnums I've used over the past 20+ years. I clocked some factory loaded Remingtons, with the 200 grain Nosler Partition, at 3190 fps... That was impressive!

I understand that there are at least a few folks out there who have shot literally tens of thousands of these at 1000 yards... From purpose built match rifles. I'm trying to learn what I can from them. My purpose is simply bear and elk hunting, but the accuracy so far has been impressive.

I’m at 91 gr of retumbo pushing 215 Bergers.

96gr Retumbo, 200gr Accubond, 3200fps from a 26" Savage. As much as it hurts on my end it has to hurt on the other end.

I’ve used 92.5 grains of Retumbo lit by a Fed 215m with a 200 accubond in a Rem 700 with a 26” barrel for a number of years with good results. Kills elk quickly.

My rifle has got to be an odd ball as it shoots lights out with IMR4350 I tried other powders and IMR7878 was perty good but
IMR4350 was the best for accuracy. I found this as an accuracy load in one of my Nosler loading manuals. I use 82 grains with
a 180 grain swift sciracco bullet at 3165 fps. I have killed a couple of Mule deer and I will say the 300 ultra is one powerful cartridge.
I worked up to this load and it is a max load so work up this for YOUR rifle if you decide to try it.

I am shooting 96 grains of Reloader 25 with 185 Bergers and Fed 215 primers. Can't remember the velocity right off but its fast. My barrel is 28.5" Shilen SS SM 12 twist Getting around 2.25" groups at 500yds. Talked to ole Walt Berger alot when I was building it. Talk about sharp; he was sharp.
