Hello everyone my first post here.
Im in the process of getting parts togather to build a rifle. I so far have a Stiller TAC300 action, 2 Krieger 5R .308 #17 profile barrels, Jewel trigger and a Manners T4A stock.
Now im up to the part where i get a reamer and i need some help.
So what i want is a match chamber tight neck .341 and throating to seat 208 Amax projectiles touching the lands at 3.810"
there is a specific reason i want this OAL i will explain later but not now as it may confuse the issue at hand.
Speeking on the phone with PTG they have told me that there standard Freebore for the 210gr range of bullets is .168" but he cant tell me what the actual OAL will be with the 208 Amax and sending some dummy rounds is out of the question as i live in Australia.
What im hoping for is that someone has a custom chamered rifle they shoot 208 Amax's out of and know the freebore length and can tell me what there OAL length is with this bullet. Does not have to be a .300 RUM jsut as long as i know what cartridge it is i can extrapolate my approx. OAL from that.
