300 grain .338 Accubonds, 285 grain Hornady Amax at distance?

Curious what your results have been with these two projectiles. I am currently using 300 grain Berger VLD's and 300 grain MK's in my 338 Lapua Improved.

I do have a couple boxes of of the Amaxes and Accubonds on the shelf. I don't want to waste precious components if I am likely to be disappointed with these in the 1-2K range based on others experiences.

@MTlager shoots 300 grain ABs out of his 338 Edge. Their terminal performance is several magnitudes better than the match bullets, but ABs are some times fussy.

Maybe Lonnie will chime in with the long range accuracy he gets.

If you using them for target shooting the 300 Berger is tough to beat. The Amax next as far as BC's go. The Accubond and MK's are better hunting bullet, but wont hold up in the wind at 2 K like the Berger, so depends on what you are using them for.

Only Target shooting so far, although now I am currently 3 weeks into recovery from shoulder surgery and probably wont be shooting rifles till next year. Would the Nosler CC also be in the same category as the MK/Accubond? Distance limiting factor right now is my rangefinder, as well as getting close to end of elevation in the scope.

Thanks for the feedback. Please keep it coming.

I don't have 285 Amax but do shoot the 285 ELD-Match which one might say is the Amax's successor. I shoot them out to a mile, frequently at 1,000 yards. They are my go-to bullet in my Savage 112 .338 Lapua. I have shot measured 1/3 MOA (mas o menos) groups with them at 100 yards. (shown). (I use N570 in that load)
I have never shot the Accubond bullets.
I also have the 300 Bergers and indeed they are a very nice bullet although I tend to RE33 with them.
One thing that can't be ignored is comparative price Berger v Hornady. I'm not sure my shooting improves by the same percentage as the price difference Hornady v Berger.
