Looking for some load info for 300 AAC using 147 grain full metal jacket bullets and H110 powder. I am using this in an Ar and I have heard of people have cycling issues. Thank Shawn

What type of gas system, pistol or carbine? I'm assuming these will be supersonic. I wouldn't think cycling issues, but many have had accuracy issues with the 147's. If it's for steel or plinking you should be OK.

It is just for plinking out of a stock ar
A stock AR can have either gas system. Look through the handguard and estimate tube length. Use the link I provided previously for a comparison for load data. It wouldn't be a huge assumption to say your probably a bit over gassed, most are.

I load the same bullet and either H110 or 296.
15.5 gr of either works well through several 300bo rifles I load for 1-2" at 50 yards is the norm.

What is everyone using for there COL hodgdon says 2.235 that barley seating the bullet in the neck of the case it seams ?

It just depends on the projectile MS. H110/W296 doesn't do well with compression. Pressure spikes quick . A friend of mine has an excellent method, placing the base of the bullet just on the powder charge. You can use a depth gauge, (marked 1/4 inch dowel) to determine how much bullet needs to be in the case without compression.
Hodgdon lists 17.2 gr as max at 2.235 - depending on the bullet used, there should be plenty in the case to hold.
Start low and work up, check those primers for pressure and you'll be fine.
Sounds as if you have a pistol gassed system. Supers can be harsh, not in recoil necessarily, but in trigger reset and torquing off target.
An adjustable gas block will make it the smooth shooting rifle all ARs should be.

The 147 and 150 FMJ bullets are a problem for loaded data. There is too much variation in shape. Some can be loaded to full magazine length, others will jam.

Easiest thing to do is take a sized case, rest the bullet on top and measure overall length. For an AR I generally want at least .125" bearing surface in the neck. What ever number you use, subtract that from the measured length.

Make sure that length will fit your chamber.

For the ones I tried that was 2.200" to have .125" in the neck and I noted the the cannelure was at 2.150"

Hodgdon uses a Hornady 150 Inter Bond in their data, 1.260" long. The 147 of mine was 1.130"

If you're new to the cartridge, still a little new to reloading, 147 & 150 grain bullets will be very confusing. If you had loaded the 150 interbond to the 147 recommended length, even a starting load could have been trouble.

As it is, your bullet falling out was a big clue something is wrong. You might not have noticed the extra .130" in the case unless it was extremely compressed.

JBM has a very complete bullet length list. Compare the one in whatever data you are using to what you have. Keep seating depth the same, and make sure the bullet stays out of the lands.

Stay safe.

Buy a Sierra loading manual, or a Berger? Maybe Glen Zediker has a new AR book out or his handloading book has data?

Buy a $1200 rifle but want to mooch loads? Sierra has a 135gr match bullet for the .300. Buy their manual, call their hotline, use their bullets until you figure it out. If you start using known precision data and components you isolate that many elements that might plague you. Controlling all the variables you can is what makes precision shooting happen, if you a knack for the gun.
