300 blackout in an sbr???

Considering a silenced sbr in 300 blackout. Does anyone have experience running the blackout in an sbr? I want to be sure that its an accurate round in an sbr platform or if you need a longer barrel.

I have a SBR Blackout AR, that I bulit, I run it with sub-sonics and a can, lots of fun. But accurate ? compared to what ? A 223, 308, 22rf ect ? No! Maybe a 45 acp, same bullet weight at same speed, yes. It is just a fun toy, dont try to make something its not and you will be happy. Jtate

Me and my friend built twin 8.2" "pistol" builds. We used the lightweight CMMG barrels and are getting just slightly over 2.5 MOA at 100 with factory hornady ammo (supersonic) when we put a scope on it. however we run them with subsonics and a can and it's downright fun.

There is some great info on this site, but www.300blktalk.com is specific to the AAC. If you haven't done so, check it out. It's the "accurateshooter.com" of the 300 BLK world.

Even if the velocity and bullet weight are similar between a 300blk and 45acp i dont see how its a good indicator of whats possible. The bullet coefficients are so different that i find it hard to believe there isn't a significant advantage to the 300. Im not looking to throw a fixed leupold 45 power scope on and drill clay birds at 1000. Im looking for a gun i can plink around with using a holographic or 1-4 cqb type opic shooting steel. Off barricades and various positions. I guess my hopes would be a 10" steel plate at 200 at the max end. Also the reason im interested in the 300 over say 223 is a heavier bullet subsonic with a can.

The problem even with the higher BC bullets your real world BC will not be there at sub-sonic speeds, there is always a trade off. The blackout is loads of fun sub-sonic suppressed in a SBR, we shoot the el cheapo cast bullets that have the bc of a bowling ball. If you are still hung up on tighter groups put together a SBR in 6.5 Grendel but you will need to run it super-sonic.
