.300 Blackout conversion Problem

I converted 50 sellier & bellot .223 cases to .300 BLK

I tried to load the, even fullsized .300 Blackout into my Remington but the bolt was really hard to close, so i think when the Bullet is seated it won't work

The shellholder touches the die when i'm sizing

What brand of case gauge? Does it fit and headspace on the gauge?

Start by using a fired case from your chamber to set headspace of .003 on your new brass.

Without gauges your just feeling your way around in the dark.

The RCBS case mastering gauge will give you case wall thicknesses.

And the Hornady cartridge case headspace gauge will give you shoulder to base measurements.

I once made 100 7.65 Belgian Mauser cases from 30-06 cases that a book or manual told me to use for the conversion. The necks ended up so thick they were tight and hard to chamber. And to fix the problem you need neck turning tools or shorter and thinner brass. I ended up using 7mm Mauser brass and kept the 100 converted 30-06 cases to remind me I should have tried the first case to see if it would work before making the other 99. :'(

I checked the wall thickness today

See there, by far too thick
I have turned off 0,006" from the Neck
Now they chamber well

The interesting thing is, the last lot off .223 S&B i converted to .300 BLK I did not have to turn the neck ???

That's an extreme variation!
