.300 Ackley info Please!

I have searched the entire web and cannot find any data on the .300 Ackley. Can anyone tell what the parent case is? How the cases are formed? Handloading data? I would love to see a Case drawing if there is one out there.

The parent case is the 300 Why Magnum. The shoulder is blown out to the 40 degree AI configeration upon fire forming. Most of the 1000 yd BR shooters at Hawks Ridge use RL-25, or if a good lot, RL-22. Nice long neck. Heck of a LR round.

Blake Daniels fire formed his brass from 300 H&H RWS brass which is very strong. His championship brass lasted at least two seasons. Note the RWS brass is MUCH heavier and has a few grains less capacity than the 300 Why Mag. brass,Norma).

Think you will find that there are "several" case and reamer designs on the 300 Ackley, all very similar but enough tweaks to make live interesting. Caution is the word.

Some use the 300 Weatherby, some use the 340 Wthby and some use the 300 H&H. Same with the dies.

Redding sells the 300 H&H Ack Imp dies and they can email you the reamer specs so you can have your reamer cut to the dies.
