Did a search...some old topics but nothing recent.......

Do we have no 300 BO shooters ? Here's mine....less than 4 weeks old

about 400 rds down the Shilen 16" SS tube...8 twist...this thing shoots just

about anything I feed it...110 V's...125 BTs...140 Noz comps..165 Noz BTs...

Aero Precision lower....Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24 in Stoner mount...feeds

flawlessly from the Magpul mags...have dusted some p/dogs out to 180 yds

so far...powders ?? AA1680..IMR4227...H110...what I have the most of..my

first real AR type rifle...have since added verticle grip & sling with front

swivel....very happy with my purchase !

Let me start by saying what a great looking rifle you have pictured. In answer to your question, at least from the broad spectrum of the shooters they are primarily BR, prone and varmint hunters. No disrespect either + or - that is just the way I see it. BTY. I built a 300 BO and I have more fun tinkering with the different load combinations with anything else in a very long time. I hope this helps,
Lloyd

Very nice rifle!!

As 1Shot said, this round seems to shoot the huge variety of bullet weights rather well.

My first build, 14.5" 1:8 twist nitride barrel, runs 208 Amax and HPBT rather well. Love the subsonic rounds.

Next build, finished on Saturday evening, 16" nitride 1:8 twist barrel....so that I can run 110's on up.

The best part about the 300 AAC/BO, is the ability to form brass from 223.

I want to paint some bowling pins on the side(s) of the upper.....as in a 300 score in bowling!!

Yep, this forum is about precision, competition, and the best of the best. BUT there is tangents many times.. Not an AR forum at all though.. Bunch of older, old fashion bolt action type guys that strive to put a 6mm bullet through a .224 hole without touching the sides..

And there is also a very elite .303 British Enfield bench rest accuracy group consisting of one person here. ::)

So just remember when firing long bursts with you 300 AAC Blackout your barrel may heat up and the POI may drift.

I was thinking of getting a 300 AAC Blackout upper but why change when you have such utility with a Enfield survival rifle.

And below are my benchrest riot control rifles. (I'm thinking of getting a 300 AAC Blackout upper)

Don't let anyone fool you, this is the 'Reloading Forum (All Calibers) and the 300 AAC Blackout falls under the (All Calibers) subject rule. And you have a very nice looking AR15, ;) so tell us what size groups can it shoot. And I'm serious about looking for a Blackout upper, after pricing 458 SOCOM brass. ;D

I broke up with my girl friend and it was a very unpleasant breakup so I need a little more bullet weight.
(she has a very, very dry sense of humor)

OP, how do you like the new vortex strike eagle? Seems like a decent scope for the money. And dislikes about it? Thanks!

BigEd, the 458 is worth it! since my brother already had a 300BO I had to one up him. Both are fun guns, won't be shooting a benchrest match, but if you want to throw a lot of lead downrange, get one of each.

If I give you my phone number will you talk to my finance minister about getting both? She wants to go on a European river cruise and told me I have enough guns. :'(

Just kidding, I have been married for 40 years to a wonderful girl and she hasn't kicked me out of the house "yet". :o

"BUT" as you can see in the photo above the remodeled kitchen cost more than "one of each".

I feel your pain, Jay! I have to drive south of the border to Ohio for my Yuengie, a two hour round trip. Better than a few years ago when the closest supply was PA!

Why buy?....when building is easier AND you pick the parts YOU want.

Purchased the 14.5 and 16" barrels here (at different times - they were on sale for $69): http://www.radicalfirearms.com/category-s/2061.htm

NO affiliation with this company. But, I figured if I did not like the barrel or caliber, $69 is cheap! Barrels are actually good quality.

Holy crap Ed, I think h*ll just froze over! I'm also a huge Yuengling fan, although it's tough to get (nigh impossible) here on the west coast.

The brewery is less than an hour away from my doorstep and is also the oldest brewery in North America since 1829. ;)

Note to self, get Jay Christopherson on the Yuengling mailing list and not get kicked out of forum. :o

I've been shooting an AAC Model 7 since they were available on the market. (2010-2011ish)? Picked it up to shoot subs through a SWR Omega 300 can and ended up shooting it more supersonic than anything. I haven't read through the thread here, but would say that there is little talk of it here because there is a dedicated forum at 300blktalk.com

Best wishes, and yes, get some Yuengling.

well its confirmed........have two Ruger Rancher 300 BO's in transit....

me & my buddy each got one.........pick 'em up Friday....

Can you really ever have "enough" guns?

as you can see in the photo above the remodeled kitchen cost more than "one of each".

If you have a lower, you only need two upper halves, which would only equal one gun, or if you have to buy a lower, one and a half.

And since you mentioned beer, as I read on here once before "My favorite beer is COLD"
