Does anyone have any measured velocities from a 30 Nosler hunting rifle? In particular im looking for velocity from bullets north of 200 grains. Thanks BN
Years ago I was at a get together of veteran Penna. long range hunters and overheard a conversation about velocity and case life was not a concern, the general conciseness was to get as much velocity as possible even if it meant having to throw away the case after one firing. The ones I build run a 215 at 3100 in 26" with H1000. Thats a hot load and Nosler primer pockets dont live long there. Hopefully ADG brass fixes that.
Do you have a reamer setup for 180 grain bullets, what can one expect with velocity with 180’s.The ones I build run a 215 at 3100 in 26" with H1000. Thats a hot load and Nosler primer pockets dont live long there. Hopefully ADG brass fixes that.
What is your velocity???I have been using my 30nosler this year on several deer. I am using nosler brass, RL26, 180 grain ballistic tip and 180 accubonds. My shortest shot has been 325yards on a tiny doe. Longest shot right around 550. They either hit the dirt right there or ran a short distance before falling. The deer that ran the farthest was a small doe at 450 that I shot with the accubond bullet. It ran I guess maybe 50-80 yards tops. Bullet still opened up and exited. It weighed a whopping 40-50# tops. The ballistic tips opened up as well, and didn’t blow up near as much as I expected they would. I think up close it might be nasty. They are running 3180fps. 26” barrel
