Have a few custom dies from Sid Goodling that I am trying to sell
for the family. One if a 30 Jag and a 30 Jag long.
Anyone?

Pete Wass: "I know there are and have been others but Jim Goody Shot one for years. It was called a Jaguar but it was, pretty much a 30-47."

I believe it's a 30x47 with a 35 degree shoulder. The 30 Major has a 40 IIRC.
No, a 30 Major retains the 30° shoulder angle of a Grendel and PPC. A 30 Major IS a necked up 6.5 Grendel. Other than minor reamer changes between gunsmiths, it is exactly that.
Jim Pag will probably reply when he sees this. He's very familiar with the 30 Jag. He's the man on that cartridge AFAIK.

Sorry Jim, Mike and Mr. Boggs. Just got back to Maine from Masshole Land. Got rid of 4 rifles and a pistol thank God. Jim, my Jag 2 is a 30x47 with a 35 degree shoulder and a few other minor changes from the original 30 Jag that Maine gunsmith Ronnie Morse came up with and Jim Goody use to use. Ronnie's Jag used a radius shoulder similar to the double radius shoulder of a Weatherby Mag case. Geronimo it should say 30 Jag, .332 Neck on the seater die that he made out of a piece of left over barrel. The sizer should have a brownish/bronze colored body with an aluminum colored top that just has Jag stamped on it. Sid told me that he made 5 sets of those dies. I know that 3 sets went to Maine and I know when he passed away in 2019 he still had 2 sets. As far as the 30 Jag Long, Sid never mentioned that one to me so I have no idea what that one is.
