30 BRRRRR Winter testing

Pretty significant 2 1/2 week of crappy weather here in Cody- sub zero lows and over 2 feet of snow. It finally improved enough to brave a trip to range with my 30BR….needless to say I had the range all to myself. 34, bright sun and 0-5 mph wind.
Same rifle I’ve posted about couple previous threads. I’m very happy with load I’m running. 35g N130, F205M, Berger 115 in 0.015” from “touch”. Shot 3 score targets- 150-12X, plus couple 5 shot groups in sighter grids. Groups were shot after the 15 for score. The 0.074” group is best I’ve ever shot. Best target 50-5X.
I’ve also made enough changes to stock that rifle now makes HV weight. Hopefully my shooting partner and I can get to a few matches this spring/summer.

I appreciate the sentiments but I’m a pure novice at benchrest. My background is small bore silhouette, schutzen and f-class. It’s taken over 400 rounds through this rifle to get to these results. Very little testing in serious wind and nothing done at 200 yet. I’ve got a long way to go before I give the veteran BR shooters any concern.

Can I ask what kind of Velocity your seeing on 35G of N130?

Same projectiles through my 1-17T Lilja (@ sea level) with 34.5 gives me 2960ish speed.

I’m running a 1-17” Bartlein at 24”. I get an avg of 3040. I’m at 5100’ elevation

Future of range is in the hands of state legislature as far as I know. Not been in the news lately.

Lt30 works fine for me also. I shot just a bit more than your using, whatever your barrel likes. At 78 I restrict winter to prepping brass and measuring bullets plus about 100 shots or more each day from a Springer underlever air rifle. That above all else will teach you great bench manners at 3 or 4 cents a shot, no reloading, almost no cleaning.

Down here in the Houston area, (not much above sea level), we get around 3050 fps with 35.5 grns of N130 with my 112 grn bullet. With H4198, 34.8 grns gives the same number. I shoot 1-18 Krieger and Bartliens.

These are not what I consider “hot” loads. I have tried the 36+ grn loads of N-130 at 3100+ fps, and found no reason to go there.
