30 BR loads for 308/30-06

Any loads for 308 win/30-06 that match the 30 BR?

Velocity--sure, with 118gr pills a .308 or 30-06 can push 'em way faster with all that case capacity. But as for accuracy--well a good .308 Palma gun can shoot in the twos pretty consistently,from a bench), but I think a good 30BR benchrest rifle would Agg much better than a .308,at 100/200) anytime, anywhere.

Different tools for different functions. If you have a .308 or 30-06, load them with heavier bullets to enjoy the ballistic advantages at longer range, and superior performance on game.

You don't win at Le Mans with a quarter-mile midget racer.

Moderator: if you where to build a varmint gun, would you use a 30br or a 308?

Im not sure if the 30br is such a gain compared to the 308. I could use a repeater, and heavier bullets in the 308. But burning 10 grains more powder, will erode the barrel faster then a 30br. Im looking at 125 tnt @ 3000fps.

Both would be custom guns!

You can push 125gr projectiles at 3.000fps from a 30br i have been doing it. I have also just fired my first 10>15 rounds of 30X47L and it is looking very promising as it can push 150gr Pro hunters at over 2800fps still working on powder and load but with 42.5grs Ar2208/Varget 2750fps 42.5grs AR2206/BLC,2) 2880fps Will see if i can get some BM2/Benchmark to try.
This is in an old palma barrel cut back and chambered at 24inches 14twist and starting to get slight flattening of the primers at that last load.
