30 BR head space

Sorry if what I say here is wrong, I may have misunderstood but here goes. I want to put together a simple project for paper punching, something a little nicer then off the shelf, but i would like to do as much as possible myself. I like the 30BR chambering I have read about, and I see some quality barrels pre-fitted for the Savage action. I do not see a Go No-Go gauge listed anywhere for a 30BR. Is it the same as 6MMBR? If not is there some place to get a set for 30BR? If i can't get gauges I would probably look at a .220 swift or .22-250 AI.

Thanks Butch. I thought it was, but i was unsure of how a Go No-Go gauge fits in the chamber and if the neck size or bore diameter came into play at all. I have never actually done this so I want to be sure to get it right. There is NO room for error in head space. Any idea on these pre-fit barrels? Are they "reasonably" good? I know it is not a true match chambering.

Go to http://accuracyarms.com/Shelin_Savage.htm, and you will get a great price on one. Best I know. Shilen made a mistake and under priced their Savage drop ins. Kim has the best prices that I know of and is a great guy to deal with. Probably won't catch him on Fridays or Saturday as he will be at a gun show.
The headspace guage measures from the bolt face to a datum point on the shoulder. It has nothing to do with cal. or neck size. If I were you, I would buy and set it with the go guage. If you can just feel the go guage you know that the no go will not go. Just a waste of money in this particular use.

just stick some tape on your go gauge to turn it into a no go gauge,.002 thick tape will work fine )
