30 BR For Sale

Mike, I have never seen one worn out. What was the round count any idea?
Glenn, I am the second owner of this rifle, traded for it about two years ago. At that time the first owner said it had about 2000 run through it. I then put another approximately 2000 competing for two years. I understand the 30 br has a relatively longer life than other benchrest calibers. I don't know for a fact if the barrel is worn out, I'm going by what the guys I shoot with tell me which is to change barrel every year and this barrel has at least three years of competition on it.

Thanks!
Mike

a 30br barrel should last many years. a 6ppc may need to be changed every year.... but unless you are burning though powder and bullets at an alarming rate, no need to change a 30br barrel that often.

Shocked this hasn't sold.... if I had not just bought an action this week I'd snatch this up. The action, trigger, and stock make this a steal even if you take the barrel out of the equation. A 30BR barrel typically will shoot well for a long time. Think some have 8k+ on them still sitting competitively.

30BR Barrel Life
One thing you DON’T have to worry about with the 30BR is barrel wear/round count. We polled all our experts about predicted 30BR barrel life. The consensus answer was “we can’t say–nobody has worn one out yet!” While a 6.5-284 barrel for 1000-yard competition may be shot out after 900-1000 rounds, a good 30BR barrel will deliver five or six times that number–we estimate 5000 rounds for a button-rifled barrel, and upward of 7000 for a cut-rifled barrel, based on Joe’s experience with his Kreiger.

I dont wanna intrude, but I'm not sure that's a BAT M? M's don't have the big bolt body, that I'm aware of... maybe older ones did?
