30 Bellm

I live in Illinois waited so long for rifle cartridges to be made legal. I had a 300 whisper made as soon as the discussion on rifles started, that was long before the 300 Blackout and let me say it will kill dear but not like a 30 Bellm. This will be the third year for single shot rifles of correct cartridges in Illinois. I killed my first with the 30 Bellm last fall 165 yards didn't even consider it might be to far off. Just finished a second 30 Bellm it's ready for sighting in, faster twist, better barrel quality I can't wait for this season.

Can you scan your reamer print and post a full clear picture of it?
Is it a JGS?
Perhaps you have one on an email as an email attachment from your original order?
Is this cartridge basically a 30BR?

No it's more like a short (1.4) 30 Dasher. It's a ptg reamer .330 neck. I'm going to sell it as soon as I verify the second rifle shoots ok if your interested.

What bullet? Ive built 3 of them. All of them on xp-100 pistols. Buddy started with 125 ballistic tips. Worked ok. When the announced the 190 and 210 LRAB I ran numbers. It extended the range to 700 yards! Granted that was with noslers bc numbers. With correct numbers Shane's gun has killed several deer over 600. Two crop damage deer in Michigan were 630, bang flops. Ive only shot deer to 250 ish. Works great. The long range accubond is a super soft bullet and works great in that little case.

I’ve hunted 8 years with the 30 Bellm from an MOA Maximum pistol. Superbly accurate, never lost a deer, and 90% are bang-flop. Furthest kill was 370yds, with an average of 200yds or so. The accuracy just makes it so easy to hit heart/vitals. Did you buy a reamer? Would you rent it with a deposit? I’m in Mascoutah and have lathe, 07-FFL.

I shoot the 125 Nosler BT at 2730fps from a 14” pistol, 32gr H4198. (Not Contender safe). It’s just knots them up. I’ve let inexperienced shooters shoot plates out to 500 yds and they are just blown away how easy it is to make hits.

I shot my deer last fall with Hornady 125gr sst with a 1-11.25 twist. This year my new rifles is a 1-10 twist and I'm going to shoot the Barnes 130gr TTSX. The sst is a bullet I shot in my whisper, but the Bellm liked them so I used them in the slower twist. I worry the faster twist might give me pore performance I know a couple of guys that swear by the Barnes so I'll give it a go. I would like to try the Barnes on something close i really worry about a bullet exploding with no penetration. The whisper works with even 110gr vmax but I only aim at vitals. I'm told the Barnes is a hit the shoulder bullet. My reamer will be going up for sale soon I have two very good 30 Bellm and the whisper as back up.
