I have started working with a 30-6.5PRC and thought I would share some of what it can do. It is a 6.5 PRC necked up to a 30 cal, and I have been interested in it mostly because it is right at the same capacity as a 30-06: 70gns of H2O. This holds a nostalgic place in my heart because I got started shooting a 30-06 with 190gn SMK at 600 yards back in the 90s. I intend to focus on 200 up to 230gn bullets and the goal is to use it for 1000yd BR.
For those who may not have seen my other posts, I test and tune out in the open prairie - the national grasslands in the northeast corner of Colorado. It's a peaceful place and I find my trips rejuvenating. Since you're not allowed to drive off the roads, I have to walk my target out and this means that most of the results you see will be at somewhat odd distances. Here's what my setup looks like lately:

Just to the right of the umbrella in the distance, you can see a white square. This is a 48"x48" target, in this picture set up at 786 yds, by the GPS measurement on my phone. Just for fun, here is another spot that I shoot:

Same target at 600yds and you can prominently see one of my 4ft sticks of #3 rebar, painted red, with surveyors tape. This works pretty good and is high visibility in the scope at distance.
Alright, into the meat of it! Here's my BR family of favorites right now:

Left to Right: 20 Vartarg shooting a 55gn Berger at 3150fps, 22 PPC shooting a 90gn SMK at 2930fps, 6.5x47 shooting a 144gn Berger at 2760fps, and the 30-6.5PRC (named by it's inventor the 30 Prick) shooting a 220gn Berger at 2730fps.

The chamber has a 0.338 neck. When you neck up Lapua 6.5 PRC, we end up at a loaded round of .341 or so and this was set up for a light turn to clean things up. A word of warning: the original shoulder-neck junction gets pushed into the neck and creates a horrendous donut. You have to set up your freebore to stay above that donut, because I have had no luck turning it down or reaming it out sufficiently to have the seating feel I prefer.
