I've got a 30-284 that I'm really new to and just started shooting some 200gr sgk with 53.5gr h4350. It's nearly a full case and coal is about 3.018. I get about 2685fps on this load and the GRT tells me I get 100% powder burn and roughly 60k psi. There are zero pressure signs with this load.
I have some 200gr eldx, but the 220 Lapua scenar is intriguing.
I have been playing around in the GRT to figure out what other powders might be good or better for 200gr bullets but got to looking at the 220gr bullets. It seems that with my barrel length of 23" there are no powders that would work well with a 220gr bullet. By work well, I mean get a >99% burn and keep it below 62k psi and have a 95%+ case fill. The best two powder options I could find for 200-220gr bullets keeping in line with the patameters above and getting good speed is h4350 and R Hunter.
Does anyone shoot this cartridge with a 24" or less barrel and heavy bullets that could share some load info or insight with me?
