30-06 with H4985in a M1 Grand

300 RUM

Gene Nowaczyk
Does any one have load data for 30-06 with H4985 in a M1 Grand, I am concerned about bending tthe up op-rod?

My new hornady manual says 43.2-46.4 of h4895 and this is the listing in the service rifle section.

Please use a bullet near 175gr for that load too.

Lyman recommends 150-175gr bullets, and hodgdon recommends starting a 155gr Sierra HPBT at 46.0gr of H4895
a 175gr would start at 43.8gr

Hornady 9th eddition
H4895 powder.
150 to 155 grain bullets 43.2 to 46.4
168 grain bullets 39.8 to 46.4
178 grain bullets 38.2 to 46.4

You can now help pay for three pages of my new manual, send your check or money order to bigedp51 thecheepbastard. ::)

I shoot 200 yd competitions, with 150 gr FMJBT followed by 44.0 gr of H4895. It's mild recoiling, and groups nice. This works good in garands, and awesome in my 03-A3.
