30-06 page

Same old question, is there a 30-06 page in our future (like this year maybe) ?

What? You must not have gotten the memo.......I thought EVERYONE knew that the 30-06 was flatter than Madoff's Mastercard. Gotta have a RAUM/SAUM/WSSM whiz-bang magnoom to bring down those Kevlar-wearing/hard-shell-coated muleys and whitetails. And elk? Barrett Light 50, minimum.

I'm a huge fan of the 30-06, as well. Call me antedeluvian.

I have to agree; all this BS that the manufacturers spew out about "new calibers" has me rolling my eyes and laughing! I know a local woman who gets whatever she aims to put in her freezer on every hunting trip. She uses a .32 Winchester Special - sort of a large bore version of the old .30-.30. I asked her if she would like to go out target practicing some day, and she answered "Why? I haven't missed, yet." Perhaps a little egotistical answer, but to the point! She "target practices" on the game she gets. I don't agree with her viewpoint, but she does bring home the bacon!

German Salazar likes the 30-06's, and you can find some good info on his blog - http://riflemansjournal.blogspot.com/

Although German has some good info on the old cartridge in his blog, it's not to the level of detail that is found in the cartridge guides on this site. You won't find h2o capacities of different brass manufacturers, pet loads, barrel twist recommendations, etc... and, that's why I agree that a 30-06 page would be cool! A one-stop place to get some quick info...
