30-06 loads using the Serengeti reamer

This reamer is one designed by German Salazar and produced by PT&G .Barrel is a 1-10 twist Krieger and 26” long . Since I will only be able to shoot 550 yds. I am going to load and shoot primarily 168’s and 175’s although I’m open to other options . I’d especially appreciate hearing from someone that is/has used this reamer as to how it’s working for you as well as powders that worked well. For me I have found that using Sierras accuracy load w/ VV550 exceptional in a 1-11.25 twist.

Jackie Schmidt did one a few years back for hunting. Do a search on here or Benchrest Central. He had loads and bullet weights he used (I believe in the same range as what you're looking at). Maybe he'll chime in on here also.

Well G. Salazar, was successful with h4350 (54.0)gr and a sierra 190 MK.

Work up to it, though as I recall this wasn't a max load.

For 175, I've found IMR 4895 as hard to beat, though I don't have a Serengeti chamber, I predict this combo will still shoot great. The newish enduring powders are reported to work well in 30-06, I'd suggest 4451.

I have that chamber.
Lilja 10 twist 4 groove, mk 13 mod 7, 26”. Lapua cases, CCI BR2, Berger 185 VLD Hunting, IMR4831. Case were 2.485-6, COAL 3.339. 52 grains in my rifle. Shoots very well.

I haven't used that reamer specifically, but 3 different 30-06 of mine have all preferred IMR-4064 with the 155 and 168 sierra matchkings.

just read a few articles on the Seregeti chambered 30-06, as an 06 lover I find the benefits very interesting

I'm shooting it in a 1-9 twist in a REM 700 28 K&P barrel, using IMR 4350 but WIN 760 works really well too 155.5 and up, people at my club tell me a .30-06 is not supposed to be that accurate, go figure? Redding dies fit the fire formed cartridge perfectly!

I had a barrel with this reamer and used 215 bergers and h4350 with a max velocity around 2650 out of a 1-10 30" krieger. Half moa but it had too much recoil and torque for me to do well. A better shooter could have done better. At Salazar's suggestion I also tried RL17.
Accuray was erratic and velocity was not increased.

I am shooting bug holes with brothers '06, 168g Nosler long range accubond, 63g of R#22 with a cci 250, accurate and great velocity at 2900 fps in a 26" barrel.

Mine was used on a 22” Benchmark CF Lite threaded to a Borden Timberline Magnum. I only have 140 rounds through it to date, but so far it’s liked the Norma 180 Oryx behind RL-23 @ 2750 producing 3/8” 100 yard groups. Similar situation with the Woodleigh 180 PP SN too.

166 Hammer Hunters and 165 Power Hammers behind H4350 going 2950 fps with no load development have been the easiest to make group, but I only have shot six of them.

I will have to test a few more of the Hammer Bullets, but I did not have anything that was consistent enough using 168 NBT’s and 165 Partitions with H4350, IMR4350, Norma URP, and RL16. Although RL16 behind the 168 BT wasn’t bad @ 1/2-5/8” at 100 yards.

Loaded up three more of the 166 HH seated slightly deeper and dropped the charge by 3/10ths. Lost a little speed, 2930, but definitely a smaller group.
