3 groove rifling

i used to see a lot about 3 groove rifling years ago to have wider grooves that wouldn't erode as fast. What's the thought now on 3 groove and applications?

It does not last any longer than any other configuration in my experience. Too many rounds too quickly out of a hot caliber and you got throat erosion, no matter what type of rifling is in the bore. I have tried and experimented with every type rifling out there done every way there is to do it and can honestly say I am unable to find any difference related to either performance, wear, ease of cleaning, break in time required, accuracy, velocity, consistency or any other rifling related effect on shooting you can think of.
I believe that a single point cut rifled barrel should have less stress and in a lightweight contour should walk less, but even that is not always the case. A barrel is like a wife...either you got a good one or you don't, but you always wonder and sometimes have to find out about something different.
