284 win load data request

I have a dynamite load for the 284 with h4831. It throws a 9 here and there in fclass. I am looking at switching to h4350. I'm hoping to improve my vertical by 1-2 points. I know this has been covered, but what is everyone loading with the 180 hybrid and h4350? I would like to stay seated just touching the lands. I appreciate any thoughts.

Try 51.0 grains of H 4350 on the lands. You should get between 2800-2900 depending on your barrel length. At 29", I get 2885-2900. I'm using lapua brass and WW large rifle primers loaded @ 3.1 oal.

I'm not getting anywhere near what 284winner is...

Barrels vary a bit to say the least. I'm getting 2800 flat: 32" barrel and 51.1 grains of powder lit by a Wolf primer. Lapua brass. My freebore is .220"

Going faster makes vertical at 1k. I can run it up into the mid 52's safely, but there isn't anything I want up there.

I am running 51.6 of H4350 in WW cases with 180 Hybrids. The F210 primers give me ES in the low single digits. I was shooting 2k a few weeks ago with the Lab Radar and thought it was malfunctioning when it read rhe same velocity for three shots in a row. It wasnt though. My velocity is 2815. I am on my 3rd barrel and this is the best load I have found for long range.

Could be it's your rear bag and not your load.[/QUOTE]

It could be. I shot a 1000 yard match this past year and I noticed that the 10's at 600 yards are now 9's. This to me signifies a possible ignition issue. It could be the rear bag, but I feel very disciplined in follow through. I hear people talk about h4350 shooting very well in the 284, and want to try it out. I am using standard h4831 not short cut. I think I can reduce my variance in load weight by switching to a smaller kernel powder. I know I could use h4831sc, but I already have 4350.
