284 win barrel length

I have a Benchmark 34” 284 cal 1-9 blank, and was wondering if anyone has used a 33” finish barrel for a 284 win for f class. I’m not worried about weight it’s a Speedy tapper and I have 22 pounds in f class. Build is Borden BRLXD rblp Kestros R adjustable length and pull, Jewell trigger and topped with Nightforce NXS 12-42-56mm. I think I will be around 20.5 pounds
Any input would help on the barrel length.
Thanks Jason

I actually have and also used a tuner with the extra length. However I have switched back to 30" finished without a tuner. Happy with both lengths but happier without having to use a tuner.

I haven’t given it an thought to a tuner, now you have me thinking. I’m a little worried it will give me one thing to have to mess with, and it seems I never have enough time for load development. Thanks for the advice.

Mine is finished at 32" with no tuner. Awesome shooter. 21.7 pounds with pr&t fully adjustable laminate stock, nf br 12-42x56, panda action.

Exactly! Longer barrel adds to harmonics playing a bigger role. IMO, try 30” finished first. Less headaches.

I built this rifle on a short action push feed Winchester. The intent is a light weight hunting rifle. I turned the barrel to a Featherweight contour 23" long and it's going into a 20 ounce Wildcat Composite stock.
I have a bunch of H4350 so I'm wondering what you fellows would consider max load for the 140 and 150 grain bullets?

I had a .284 Win F-class gun built for my daughter with a 33" Brux on a Panda action and McMillan stock. We are very happy with it.

Shaggy10000, what speed are you getting and with what load. I’m thinking of using 4831sc and H4350 with the Berger 180 &184 hybrid.

We did load develop with Berger 184's originally but she gets a deal on sierra now so she is using those in the 183 version. They both shot great though. Right now we are at 49gn of H4350. The speed should be around 2800 although not verified yet. We did a ladder test for groups and ended up around .3 MOA at 300 yds
