The manufactures need to quit tipping bullets. This will help. Let the shooters tip if they want toIs anyone getting them to shoot at distance well enough to be competitive? I only had one barrel that shot them well but not as well as 180/184's. Four other barrels would not shoot them or the 190 A-tips reliably. As per ironman, .235" FB will be good but .250" will get the 'pressure ring' of the bullet more comfortably away from the base of the neck and give a little more room in the case for powder. I will likely revisit them in this current barrel if the supply of my preferred bullets is depleted. My current reamer is a .250" and shoots 180/184 hybrids well. (not a Shehane but a 7 Sherman Short mag).
I’ve had good results with 190 LRHT but after seeing what top level shoots do to get results I can really see your point. The manufactures need to quit tipping bullets. This will help. Let the shooters tip if they want to
No way can the manufactures tip reliably. Bullet over all length has to be taken into account when tipping.
I know the a tips don’t fit in this comment but I think the 190’s and 183’s would be better if they weren’t tipped.
My smk 6.5 mm 150s are factory tipped and shoot really well in a 7.5tw.The manufactures need to quit tipping bullets. This will help. Let the shooters tip if they want to

I got them to shoot very well after a lot of trying in my straight 284. The only powder I was able to get them to shoot with was Vn560 at 2985 fps out of a 8.5 twist 30-inch barrel. They shot 0.1 moa at that speed. which was great. I however decided not to use them in matches since that is a HOT double based powder and close to 60 grains of that would eat the throat and barrel way too fast. I therefore went back to the 180s and 184s.Is anyone getting them to shoot at distance well enough to be competitive? I only had one barrel that shot them well but not as well as 180/184's. I shot the tipped 183 SMK's side by side with the Bergers. ThereI know the a tips don’t fit in this comment but I think the 190’s and 183’s would be better if they weren’t tipped.
Its a screamer for sure My buddies were shooting them with decent groups in their SAUMs so I thought "maybe if I can speed them up.....". I played with Quickload and decided to try the N560. The powder ladder from 55 to 58 grains was 0.5 moa. That got my attention!Yikes!
That load 100 fps faster than my 7 saum.
