284 Shehane fire form loads?

I am finally having my 284 Shehane being built and should be receiving the build within a month or so. I am looking for some input from members who have shot the 284 shehane or know about it as what load worked well for them to fire form your brasss? I will be necking up 6.5x284 lapua brass with a K&M neck expander and use their carbide cutter for the donuts and will be using berger 180 hybrids and need a starting point for fire form. I have H4350 and H4831 or RL17. Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
DS

My match load is 57.2 H4831 SC. I drop one grain to 56.2 and shoot them in club matches where they shoot almost the same as match loads. Regardless, you should still work up and check the pressure bounds.

Using 180gr VLD or Hybrids I use 56.5 grains of H4831SC for fireforming and seat the bullets 20 thou further in from just touching the rifling to ensure the round does not move forward and cause light strikes.
My full load is 57 grains of shortcut and VLDs just touching the rifling and hybrids 20 thou back from touching.
Have fun finding out what suits your rifle as it does differ.

I have a 7mm Walker, which is just a Shehane with a 40deg. shoulder. That's pretty close to my fireforming load, 56.6gr of H4831SC, 180gr Hybrids 0.015" into the rifling, and my match load, 57.0gr/0.015" jump.

Fire form with the 162gr Amax bullets jumped approx 20 thou. This is the best bullet seating position for accuracy if you use the 162grainers as your short range round as well as fire forming.

When fire forming new cases with the 162gr Amax, use a lighter load, if you don’t do this then you risk premature case head expansion. I use 55.5gr of H4831SC, which is good for 2900fps.

I fireformed with 54gr H4813SC and a 168SMK. Accuracy was fantastic, and I hope I wasnt too harsh on the cases for the first firing. Alot of people in my area have found softer fireforming loads have lead to better case life than running them full tilt from the start.

Have any of you folks settled on Re17 as your Shehane match load?

I like to know this too. Thanks Jeffery
