.284 mag feeding issue

Bare with me there’s a lot I still gotta learn about various aspects of repeating rifles. I spun together a .284win on a long action Remington 783. Problem is I can’t get it to feed properly from the magazine. Rifle started life as .30-06. When I try to load a round from the magazine it just runs into the Breech/feed ramp like it’s not sitting high enough or the feed lips on the mag are holding it too long. I tried bending the feed lips out more but then it doesn’t wanna seat correctly. Ideas or suggestions where to go/what to try?

To do that would I open the front up a bit more with a fil or just bend the front of the lips out a bit?

Bend the lips. A file is a one way street. Brownell's sells a tool that works well for this job.

Timing . Have it release from the feed lips earlier. The 06 is case ( base to shoulder ) longer .
