.284 in or out of the lands

With the .284, are you into the lands or do you have a jump to the lands? (162 AMAX)

I did not see much difference in or out of the lands.

Hornady 162 gr Amax bullets
Load testing for the 7mm (284) CCI-BR primers
100 yard bench rest, 5-shot groups, temp 40/70 degrees, alt 200'.
Rifle: BAT action, 30" Krieger barrel, med palma taper, .277x.284", 1:8.5 twist.

Bullet H4350 MV SD Group size OAL

H162 51.0gr. ---- -- 0.239" soft seat
H162 51.0gr. ---- -- 0.237" jump 0.025"

Thanks alot for the reply. I changed up my load a little to see how things would go with the bullet just touching the lands this past Sunday at the 500 yard range. I also changed powder from RL17 to H4350 @ 54g. I only shot 13 times due to the wind was so bad and all over the place. But I did get two good 3 shot groups. Thanks again.
