284 accuracy issues

It takes a bit of courage to state the a 284 is inherently inaccurate. Seems like a bit of BS to me. Relative to bullet release, I am leaning on more rather than less neck release. Everyone started me off on tight neck chambers (.003 by the book down to .002 with the spring back) and if you are careful they can work just fine, but for the sport I am now shooting (f-class) I am wanting more room for the brass to go. Just cut 700 new 284 cases and took a full .001" more off the neck that I had been. Now am able to actually slide a bullet into a fired case with out much if any resistance. I like, and the accuracy is still there. Neck walls still a comfortable .0117.

I skimmed part of the thread so please forgive me it was mentioned but off hand nothing was talked about how the barrel cleans/fouls etc....

Also was the crown checked for any damage?

4 of us shot .284win. in the last F-Class Champs and all of the guns performed with out any hiccups. One gun went to the match with only 15 rounds on the barrel!

Just curious!
