280AI Barrel life?

While I don't know the answer to your question, it will probably depend on how you define the barrel "going". What kind of accuracy are you looking to start with? At what range? At what point will you consider that barrel "gone"?

Ok I was a little vague on this. Normally how many rounds before the match accuracy is gone?. I want to shoot it at 600-1000yds. I do not want to chamber this caliber if it only has 900 rds of good accuracy. For hunting this would be fine as far as that goes.

thanks for all input..

It's gotta be at least as good as a straight .284.
Maybe some F-Class guys running .284s would like to comment

Cast your own bullets and your barrel will yield fine accuracy, enable almost max-loads, open the door to custom bullet designs very affordably, and your barrel will last forever.

Regarding the straight .284. I know personally that Charles Ballard won his first National Championship with a barrel that had 1,200 rounds on it. I had about 1,500 on mine and it still shot great when I pulled it off the rifle.
