280 Remington AI loads

Hello guys and gals, I am close to having my Tooter Meredith .280 AI complete. I am wanting to shoot heavier bullets. I have the twist for it. I am thinking 160 and up. I really like the long range Accu-bonds from Nosler. Next would be the Berger Hybrids. Are any of y'all loading with these bullets. If so, help a brother out and save on some time and powder. Or, if you have some pet loads let me know. While accuracy rules I am going to be hunting with these loads. This is a long range rifle that I am going to use for the long shot. The damn rifle is awesome. Now I need the load. Thanks in advance.

for the 2 I had and loaded for, the 160's loved h4350 and h4831, never went above the 160 but these two powders really made mine talk,

26' bbl and 2950+fps

I've built a few of these over the last few years and IMR 7828 seems to be the best powder. My personal gun shoots the 160gr Nosler AB and 168 Hunting Bergers very well. Both with 59grs of IMR 7828, WLR Primers and Nosler brass. Single digit or low teen ES and true sub 1/2 minute groups.

I have tried the 168 Nosler LR AB bullets with little success. I had to slow them way down to get them to shoot at all. Have not tried the Berger Hybrids yet though.

Bergers .005 into lands and Nosler AB right at lands.

I love my 280 AI and I'm sure you will too. I shoot both the Berger and the Nosler 168 with Retumbo powder. Both get 2900-2950 fps with a 26" 9 twist. Haven't been able to get the accuracy yet with the Nosler Long range but haven't spent that much effort. The Berger 168 VLD's will shoot a 600 yd group 2" +/- a little all day long. Once shot a coke can @ 500 yds 5 times in a row my buddy couldn't believe it. I think it shoots right with my friends 7mm Rem Mag custom rifle but has far less recoil. Enjoy your new rifle!!! I believe the 280 AI is one of the best 7's out there.

I'm surprised and excited to hear the velocity you guys are getting out of your 280ai with the 180 bergers. I have been disappointed with my 7rem mag accuracy and toying with the idea of scrapping it for a 280ai. My hold up was all the 180s I thought I was going to have to trade for 168s or 162s.
