280 rem loads

Looking for loads for 280 rem with 120-168gr bullets.

Best powder I have found in my old M77 Ruger w 24" Heavy Barrel chambered in .280 Rem is H4831 SC. Have not shot many of the lighter bullets, but with 168 Sierra Match kings and Berger 168 VLD's seated .020-.030" off the lands with 53-54.5 grains of 4831SC has worked well. Use posted load data and start at suggested loads and work up since the 54 grain area can be very hot in some chambers.

162 amax 2760 .002 in lands
55.4 gr RE22
Put 5 shots into 1.8" at 500

53-54gr h4350 with 150gr nbts works great in 2 280s I load for.

I shoot 175gr SMKs in my M77V 280 with RL 17 at 2770 fps.
