280 AI neck bushing sizing Die question

I don t have a 280 AI but do have 6.5 -280 AI and 25 -280 AI wildcats. ( tight necks)

Been using friends dies to load for now but wondering if anyone uses a 280 AI, or 6.5-06 AI etc neck bushing die and changes bushings accordingly and thus only need/use one die for multiple calibers? Thinking this might be the way to minimize equipment costs. Could probably also get a AI body Die and do the same with it wham shoulders needing a .001 or two bump...

Just curious of others input. If it's favorable I ll start hunting for a neck bushing die at least.

Thx for input/experiences.

I haven't done it personally but I know it will work. This is really popular with the 7mm-300 Win Mag, where people use the 300 Win bushing die. I think as long as you keep it within .020 or .030" of what the die is designed for you won't have any problems.

I would get the 280 die and extra bushings for the smaller calibers. If you get a 6.5 die there's a chance your 280 brass won't fit without a bit of reaming.

Also note that the 6.5-06 is a shorter case than the 280.
