.272 neck 6PPC makin brass

after determining the Norma brass is to thin for the .272 neck chamber I got some Lapua 220 Russian and it was supposed to be no turn chamber but it is not,,

after turning necks to .013 or maybe a tad under a loaded round measures right at .270 with the 68 Berger FB,,

using a .268 bushing and a .010 jam I loaded 50 cases with H322 just in the neck with the 68 Bergers and the cases come out looking very sharp and the necks measure .2713

I didnt go get targets from fire forming but if I can just get it to shoot as good as the FF load with full house 3300 fps loads I will be tickled,,

Get ready to be tickled. If the 322 doesn't get ya to the 3300 then maybe LT32 will. WD

I got VVN 133 and 8208 also but havent seen any LT32 locally,,

really just used the 322 to FF as I had a bunch and didnt want to waste the 133,,

Would a no-turn with Lapua need to be .273?

Not knocking Lapua brass as it is great stuff, but in my experience it would depend upon what lot you got. Some lots yes, some lots probably. JMHO, but in order to wring out all the accuracy that a ppc has to offer one SHOULD turn the necks...... or turn them enough to make them consistent in thickness side to side. WD

the lot of brass I had necked up with a tapered button and then run through a FL-S die with a .268 bushing and a 68 Berger bullet seated the necks measured .2732 and would not go in the chamber,,
