270 with 140gr Sierra HPBT

Just wanting to know if a 140gr sierra HPBT is an all round pill for shooting medium game. Or would 130 or 110gr be better. What are some loads u guys use i havent really worked one out i liked.

Most 140 gr .277 bullets are a little bit tougher than .277 130 gr bullets. It all depends on what you class as medium size game. For deer size game 75 to 200 lb in my experience the 130 gr Sierra or Nosler Ballistic Tip really does a great job of BANG FLOP killing. For big deer 250lb and up the 140's may be a little bit better.
This load has really shot well in about every 270 win I have ever seen. YOU MUST WORK UP TO THIS LOAD IN YOUR RIFLE.
60 grs H-4831, Rem. case, CCI-BR2 primer, 130 Sierra or Nos. BT 10 thousands off the lands. This is a little bit more powder than some of the manuals list these days but this was the load that used to be right on the H-4831 plastic jar when they first started using them and printing load data on the jar. In the average 22" barrel it will do 3100 fps average.
