270 win which barrel twist ?

Hello all ,I’m in the progress of building alight weight Remington 700 mountain rifle in 270 win .I’m thinking of either a 1-10 T or a 1-12 T for a 130 gr Bullets.which is best ?thank you .

1 in 10 in case you want to shoot a heavier bullet. I've considered getting a faster twist, maybe a 1 in 8 for the new bullets available now. Be fun to play with those. Possibly one of the most capable cartridges out there that seems to get lost in the marketing din of new ones.

I agree on the 10 twist. Mine shot amazing with its 10 twist and 140 gr bullets. My 6.8 SPC has a 12 twist and in the process of testing various bullets in it

The standard 10 twist works great.

Edit to add.....I have loads from 90 gr hps. to 150 grs. all in the factory 10 twist. They all shoot good.

Probably the most successful hunter ever to use the 270 Win, Jack O'Connor, used a 10" rifle with 130 grain bullets. I believe you can trust his unparalleled success as a significant data point in your selection process.

It would be unadvisable to invest in a 12 twist unless you are looking at a specific bullet and are dedicating a barrel to it for competition. It's likely that the bullet manufactures will develop improved bullets in the future for this cartridge/caliber and the 10 twist is the standard. You are not likely to gain much if any improved accuracy out of the slower twist. If this is a hunting rifle I would definitely not go with a 12 twist.
