Just when you think you had a least heard of most shooting stuff. Here comes something else. I am in the process of clearing out years of accumulated STUFF, including my range pick up brass. In the process I found some 22 Hornet headstamped straight walled brass. Inquiring on Saubier, the small stuff website, I learned that there was a Silhouette cartridge which was a 22 Hornet necked up to 270 Caliber and that it was effective in half size silhouette. I will post pics if anyone wants to see it and I have 70 cases,free if anyone still shoots it.

I have a 16” Contender barrel in 270 REN.
One reason I bought it was I worked with Charlie Rensing's wife.
I have used it for jackrabbits and a small hog. Velocity is pretty limited but I keep the range close and bullets made for the 6.8 SPC give better options than when the only bullets available were for the 270 Winchester.

There's a wildcat necking the 357 mag down to 30 caliber. You could rechamber a 327 mag and then wouldn't have the issues of modifying the bolt on a lever action as it would just be a re-barrel from 357 mag.
The problem with the 270 is no suitable handgun bullets, and really not suitable bullets for a lever action as they are all pointy. You could have custom bullet molds made, but I'd stick with the 30 caliber.
