270/338 win mag loads or info

Hi all
I just purchased a 270/338 win mag ( necked down 338 win mag to 277)
any body done any loading or owned one of these, any info would be appreciated.

This is just hypothisis on my part, but the 338 win case and the 7mm Rem Mag case are pretty much clones except for the caliber, and the 7mm RM and the 7mm WBY are pretty much clones, and a 270 WBY is a 7mm WBY necked down.....SO...the 277/338 win mag should be close the the 270 WBY. I would say that the starting loads on the 270 WBY may be close to the max on your 277/338. Maybe drop 10 % off of the 270 WBY STARTING loads to start. I realize the the WBY data takes into account the ginormas WBY freebore, but a 10% redux should be safe.

Again. this is simply speculation on my part, but I think it is sound.

Look at 264 Winchester loads. In theory the powder loads and type for the same weight bullets would be a good start . I say in theory as parameters like throat length and tighteness of your barrel are unknown.
