.264 BULLETS

Nosler 142 gr ABLR from SPS (Shooter's Pro Shop) 2nds or over-runs. Use them in my 6.5x55 SE and my 264 WM to great effect. .3 groups in my 6.5x55

The new sierra gamechanger has been incredibly accurate for me.

I used them for the first time last year. Just happened to find them at a local Sportsman's Warehouse. Didn't have time to work up a load, but they shot decent [a shade under an inch] in a nearly shot out 6.5-06 AI. They killed a couple antelope about as quickly as anything else I've ever used.

The 264 bullet is used in a vast inventory of rifles. Your question is difficult to answer unless you specify the specific caliber of your rifle. Such as 264 Mag, 6.5 Creedmoor etc. Then there is the twist rate to consider. Just pointing this out.

To be more specific. What I'm asking if there's a cheaper bullet that actually has match type accuracy for punching paper. Fairly sure I know the answer, but on the cheaper side... I see a 95 gr Vmax and a 90 gr Speer TNT and some of those have a decent rep. The 8 twist might turn it's nose up at those light bullets though.

I bought a cheap Rem 700 in 6.5 Creedmoor to play with, and want to wring it out.I bought the same rifle in .308 a few yrs back and it shot some tiny groups. How about the Matchkings? Which one of those in .264 has proved the most accurate, and/or easiest to tune ?

Give the Norma Golden Target a try. These are 130 gr and the most consistent bullets I have ever measured. Shoot very well in my 6.5x55. They are $133/500 at Mid-South, just $26.60/100.

Check out rifleshooter.com for good write ups on sierra bullets from 107-142 grains

I shoot a Ruger PRP in 6.5 Creedmoor. It is 1/8 twist and likes 140 Sierra hollow points. It will not give good results with light bullets.

The cheap 140gr Hornady HPBT might be worth a try to see if your rifle likes them. That’s what they load in the factory American Gunner and Hornady Black. Those two are shooting good for a lot of people.
