260imp 30degree loads??

"Finally" Got my 260imp 30 degree and have it ready for some load testing. I will fire form 25 cases and do my load testing with those. Would like some up dates from you guys who have them or are working with them. I know one of you was using 140Hyb. with 43.5grs of H4350.

Anyone else have some to share that is shooting well?? Thanks guys!!

Just got back from forming some more cases. 42.4 H4350 and 140VLDs with a 15 thou jam, rem 7.5's and necked down and turned palma cases was very accurate. Still havent got to test the 140 hybrids and 43.5-.8 with 15 shot groups. Hopefully sunday, but during ladder tests vertical was very tight.

Have loaded up some more but had to start a new bottle of powder and its a different batch so pretty much working up again around that area. Might have to see if I can borrow a mates CED.

I got out to fireform some cases this morning and was pretty satisfied with how the gun shot. I had the barrel melonited so I didn't need any breakin. Its a Kreiger 1-8 sendero contour in a McMillan M40 A1 stock.

I started off with a load of 43grs of H4350 with 140SMKs, 140 Hor match and 139 Lapuas. I also had my old load of 43.5 H4350 and 123 Lapuas. My groups were from .5 to .7s. The .7s all had 4 shot groups in the .3s to .4s so I was happy with that.

I started off with a Weaver tactical and it took a crap in the middle of testing so I had to swap out scopes to my old 3.5x10LR with MOA adjustments and a paralax at 100yds. If I can see the dot clear then the cross hairs follow my eye movment. SOoo..I didn't get a real sharp dot to shoot at. Just for fun I shot a group with 3 different loads and 4 different bullets, two different powders and it shot into .960!!

I hope to get out tomorrow and try a 44gr load but will try it at 400yds to see how it does. Will keep you posted!!

I am not sure what the case volume of 260AI is but I believe that its more than the 260 30 degree and the AI of course has a 40 degree shoulder and the other has a 30 degree. From the reamer print it appears the 30 degree is about .065 longer in the body area. Not sure this is what you wanted but hope it helps!!
