I am looking for member's experience using Sierra or Lapua 123gr. bullets in a standard .260 out to 600yds.
Any favorite loads would be a helpful starting point for working up loads.
Thanks
Bill

I've shot 38.5 of Varget and the Sierra 123 in a 260 for mid-range matches. In my rifle that load averaged about 2910 fps.

I have never shot a "straight" .260 except to fireform into an Ackley case. I did it with 123 Scenars jammed 15 thousandths and 37.0grs of VV N150. Having said that, they shot awesome even fireforming! The Sierra load manual has VV N150 in the .260 as the accuracy load in a few bullets. I can almost guarantee you it would shoot EXTREMELY well. AND 37.0 of N150 is a relatively mild load.

123 amax with 45.5 of H4350. Velocity 2966 with a 25" barrel. Excellent accuracy out to 600 yards( .4 @ 2.25-2.5" groups). Never shot Sierra's or Scenars in 123 only 142/139s. Amax bullets are not finicky. They like jump from .005-.125. Seems crazy but they work in my guns.

Greetings,
I was running the 123 SMK for XC and found it to be an excellent bullet at 600 yds. At that time, I was using 44.0 gr H4350 with the 123. Used 120's for the short lines. The 123's shot like the proverbial laser! You won't be disappointed.
Good luck,
John

Thank you guys. I will go with Varget and H4350. While I'm sure it is good, I don't have any VV powders.
